No time for a full update, so all the stuff I've been working on since the last time will be up in a week or two. Plus there will be a store update when I will be making prints avalable online.

First things first.
I am honoured to announce that the first exhibition at Into The Void Records in Dublin will be a solo show of limited edition prints by Unhinged. It's also my first exhibition in Dublin and kicks off on Saturday the 26th February and runs until April. No paintings in this show, only prints, but all are for sale unframed in limited editions of 10. Anyone who was at the Alternative Ink show will have seen most of these but there are an additional nine prints available. So it's worth a look if you enjoyed the last exhibition.

Into The Void Records is a newly established community based record store encompassing a whole new dimension on alternative thinking, art and presentation in Dublin city. The venture was born of a collaborative effort between 5 Dublin based, independent heavy metal record labels (Invictus, Sentinel, Underground Movement, Sarlacc and Blind Men & Occult Forces) in conjunction with The Devil’s Den tattoo studio. Never before has a venture of this style and ambition taken root in Ireland and it is our collective aim to reach out to aspiring artists in an effort to support independent, creative thinking.

In our basement room we are unveiling the first in what we hope to be a sequence of unique events. Paul McCarroll from Co. Down is displaying his art from Saturday February 26th in a exhibition titled Unhinged: Excoriation Room. Paul’s art is in macabre, evocative, unsettling yet extremely compelling. Prints are also available for purchase during the installation.

As well as Paul’s art being available to buy, we also have his book Animus Unhinged available for €18.

Just time to say a huge thanks to Shane and Lara and all at Alternative Ink for taking care of the 'Animus Unhinged' exhibition and making me feel welcome. Also to all who came down to have a look or even buy something, especially on the opening night, thanks for taking the time to brave the cold and ice to look at a few pictures. Alternative Ink have now moved to a new shop at 5 Sullivan Place, Hollywood.

Update time: The book is going down well, feedback is positive and I've been selling them steadily.

Ok, so the big news for now is that I'll be having a solo exhibition to launch the book. It's my first solo exhibit in a long time and it's also the first time I'll have prints for sale.
Theyre going to be in editions of only 10 and will be hand numbered and signed on 350 gsm paper. I already have the proofs all framed up for the exhibition and I reckon they're looking pretty good. Come down to the opening night and judge for yourself, have a drink and consider buying some of my inky output. Details below.

Alternative Ink Tattoo and Art Gallery presents a solo exhibition of artworks by Paul McCarroll to launch the new Speedlines Publications art book of his work 'Animus Unhinged'.

The exhibition runs from 15th November through to January and features selected works old and new, both analogue and digital. Along with the book itself, a selection of exclusive affordable very limited edition prints will be available from Alternative Ink for the duration of the exhibition.

It's been over two years in the making and under my hat for most of that but I'm now proud to announce that my first artbook 'Animus Unhinged', from the good people at Speedlines Publishing is available to buy now. It's a 23cm square format hardcover edition with gold foil graphics. Over the 170 pages there is very little text. I wanted to present the art as cleanly as possible and have removed all graphic elements such as titles and logos from cover art and design that I've done for bands over the years. So a lot of things look a bit different. There are also some new and old unseen works included and some works from as far back as 1990. Foreword is by my Scald comrade Pete Dempsey and the endwords have been eloquently penned by Martin Walkyier.

I have limited quantities of the book at £15 (inc postage) at the Vermitronic store if you'd like to buy direct from me, and if for some reason you want it signed let me know when you order.
Speedlines will be online with their store soon and have some other great artbooks lined up, but in the meantime they're selling direct through Amazon.
